Do you use Wordpress as your blogging platform? Then I have some REALLY great news for you!
In a previous post I spoke about how to install a FavIcon to a site that you have Hosted on your own Domain.
FavIcon Installation Basics – Site Hosted On Your Domain
These instructions allow for the proper deployment of a favicon under a variety of platforms. Actually this is the method that I used, because FavIconBlog.com runs on the Wordpress platform, and I have it hosted. The hosting company allows me access to all my files and the ability to edit them. I did it the “old fashioned” way. This way is not the only way to achieve success for WordPress users.
Some people are just not ready to dive in and deploy their favicon.ico file in this manner. Some of my non-computer savvy friends have asked me for help. If they use Wordpress I quickly tell them that they do not need my help. There is an easier way.
As long as you have the ability to install plugins (I use FileZilla) I recommend using the MaxBlogPress Favicon Plugin.
This is a great plugin that will work with any Wordpress installation of version 2.0 or higher. I am not going to spend time describing how the plugin works, or how awesome it is. Visit the site to get all the information and instructions.
Here are Direct links for you:
So if you use Wordpress as your Blogging Platform, head over to MaxBlogPress and get this fantastic plugin, and save yourself a ton of time! Tell me about your success using this plugin, or any additional information you feel should be added.
